The Royal Liverpool Philarhmonic Orchestra is the UK’s oldest surviving professional symphony orchestra.

In spring 2011, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra are undertaking a whistle stop tour of Europe, visiting seven cities, playing seven concerts, in seven nights, across three countries!

In 2010, cementing their renaissance as an orchestra of international stature, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra performed concerts at three major music festivals in Spain during August; the Quincena Musical in San Sebastián; Festival Internacional in Santander; and Xacobeo 2010 in Santiago de Compostela. In October, a country where interest in classical music is growing rapidly, the Orchestra performed at the Shanghai Concert Hall as well supporting the City of Liverpool’s presence at the World Expo 2010. They then traveled to the capital, Beijing to take part in the Beijing Music Festival, the largest and most prestigious festival of classical music in China.
